Poem

Friends, let's celebrate my 50th birthday so grand,

To Mexico City, Zipolite, Puerto Vallarta, it's all planned.

I've invited singles, couples, both rich and poor,

straight, gay, bi, all races, genders galore.

The pride flag will fly, high and free,

In its vibrant colors, a sight for all to see.

Meat lovers, vegans, and gluten-free too;

Our feast caters to each of you.

As the sun sets, drinkers tell tales so bold,

While the sober ones let their humor unfold.

You'll love each other, I'm sure it's true,

For this guest list is perfect, just like you.

In this group, there are no mistakes,

Only friendships that a shared journey makes.

I love you all, let's celebrate with glee,

It's the trip of a lifetime, filled with joy and positivity.

Costs

  • Consider staying in our shared house for approximately $125 per person, per night. The exact cost will be determined once we confirm the final number of participants joining us at our shared Airbnb. If space becomes limited at the houses, I'll provide recommendations for hotels priced around $150 per room, per night. I'll keep everyone informed as the situation develops.

Of course, if you want to coordinate your own accommodations, feel free!

  • I recommend budgeting $100 to $150 per person each day for meals in Mexico City. After that when we head to Zipolite and Puerto Vallarta the costs are much much less. I would say half of that. There might be occasions where you could spend a bit more on certain meals - but this is totally at your own judgement. I've made an effort to include the price of each meal in the drop-down menu of the itinerary. Over the next two to three weeks, these prices will become more accurate as I continue to coordinate with the restaurants. This is aimed at making our meal planning and budgeting easier.

  • Guests are responsible for booking and paying for their own flights to and from the event.

The approximate cost of a flight from Mexico to Zipolite is between $70 and $130

The approximate cost of a flight from Zipolite to Puerto Vallarta is $150.

These airfares are approximate and due to change without notice.

  • To simplify payments, we'll be using a "Kitty" system. Each guest will be asked to contribute an equal amount to our "Kitty" at appropriate times. This fund will then be used to pay for meals (including gratuity), shared transportation, event tickets, and any other agreed upon communal cost.

The person handling the 'Kitty' will be the "Banker", who will be responsible for paying for the group. The role of the 'Banker' may rotate among the group or we might decide to have a single 'Banker' for the entire trip. We'll clarify this as we approach our departure date.

Please note, Kitty will never pay for any alcoholic beverages. If you wish to order cocktails or other alcoholic drinks, you'll need to arrange payment for these directly with your server or table mates.

Insurance

I strongly recommend securing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances during your trip. Ensuring access to healthcare, without the burden of financial stress, is crucial. Here's a link to the travel insurance that I personally prefer. However, feel free to choose any provider you trust.

Oh, Mexico.
It sounds so simple I just got to go
The sun’s so hot I forgot to go home
Guess I’ll have to go now.
